Dasher with Graphyt BlimpOCTOBER

"Graphyt Blimp" out of NYC came through to record a live in studio, 6 song EP at the commencement of the month. They managed to track and mix in two days under the engineering prowess of Matt "Dasher" Messenger. It always helps though when the band is so rehearsed that they want a recording "Warts and All" as it were. The band did a great job and the result was awesome. You may recognize some of the band members who are formally of "DejaPres" who we worked with a couple of years ago. Back then they released a stellar album called "Cinema Show". The latest offering from the new band is sure to be a winner with fans.

Our favorite Irish lads are back from across the Atlantic. "Class of 1984" returns to Big Blue for their first full length and insist that they play it live in the room. Are you seeing a theme happening here? The band where here for 15 days of tracking with the amazing "Iceman". Basically, Kevin recreated the band's rehearsal room in our live room and went from there. This album was also the first of many (we hope) to be recorded to 2" 16 track analog tape. The recordings sound amazing. I will endeavor to upload some of the tracks to the player once they are mixed and mastered.

I should also mention that this is the Iceman's farewell gig at Big Blue. He is moving to Chicago to be closer to family and his other half, whose promotion took her there in July of this year. Kevin, you will be sorely missed and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. We have no doubt with your talent and expertise you will make an easy transition to your new home city.

That being said, it was also Rumblemix's Birthday....21 again eh. Many happy returns.
